ACCOMODATION AND CONFERENCE LOCATION

Hotel Normafa**** Budapest

The charming look out of Budapest was the most popular excursion place for the artist society of the last century. The well-known singer Róza Klein once sung the great aria of Bellini`s "Norma" under a big beech on this beautiful place. From this time on this place is called Norma tree, in Hungarian Normafa.

On the top of the Sváb-Hill, on the border of the Nature Protected Area of Buda, still 15 minutes away from Downtown lies the Hotel Normafa in a picturesque environment. The familiar atmosphere and the green surroundings of the alpine style hotel provide excellent possibility for recreation. The hotel has 2 restaurants with terraces, wide range of sport and fitness facilities, open-air heated pool all year long and wellness area are at our guests' disposal.

How can you reach the Hotel Normafa ...

... from the airport?

By airport minibus, which takes the passengers at a fix rate to any point of the city. It's enough to tell the address or the name of the Hotel Normafa at the airport minibus counter (LRI), located in the arrival's hall.

Public transport: Reptér-busz (Airport bus) to M3 metro terminal Kőbanya-Kispest (normal public transport tickets) --> metro line M3 to Deák Ferenc tér (direction Újpest-központ) --> metro line M2 to Moszkva tér (direction Déli pályaudvar) --> Bus #21 black or #90 to Normafa (direction Normafa or Csillebérc/KFKI).

... from the train stations?

From the Western Railway Station (Nyugati pályaudvar): Tram #4 or #6 to Moszkva tér --> Bus #21 black or #90 to Normafa (direction Normafa or Csillebérc/KFKI); an alternative way: metro line M3 to Deák Ferenc tér (direction Kőbánya-Kispest) --> metro line M2 to Moszkva tér (direction Déli pályaudvar) --> Bus #21 black or #90 to Normafa (direction Normafa or Csillebérc/KFKI).

From the Eastern Railway Station (Keleti pályaudvar): Metro line M2 to Moszkva tér (direction Déli pályaudvar) --> Bus #21 black or #90 to Normafa (direction Normafa or Csillebérc/KFKI)

From the Southern Railway Station (Déli Pályaudvar): Bus #21 black or #90 to Normafa (direction Normafa or Csillebérc/KFKI)

... from the international bus station?

International bus terminal (Népliget): metro line M3 to Deák Ferenc tér (direction Újpest-központ) --> metro line M2 to Moszkva tér (direction Déli pályaudvar) --> Bus #21 black or #90 to Normafa (direction Normafa or Csillebérc/KFKI).

Notes on buses 21, 21-red and 90:

When you use public transport, sooner or later you end at Moszkva tér or Déli pályaudvar, where you have to change to bus #21 or #90. Bus #21 BLACK (we will return to the colour later) and #90 take essentially the same path, but the final stop of 21 is Normafa, while 90 goes further (to KFKI/Csillebérc). You can reach the conference's site by both of them by getting off at the stop Normafa. Hotel Normafa (the conference's site) is a few tens of metres back prior to you direction of travel. Buses #21 BLACK and #90 start from the same stop both at Moszkva tér and Déli pályaudvar. About every second bus is not #21 but #90, with a follow-up time of ~10min during the day (for a more detailed timetable see the homepage of the Budapest Transport Company). IMPORTANT! Do NOT take bus #21 RED. The final stop of this line is much earlier than Hotel Normafa! (see the schematic view above).

How to distinguish bus #21 BLACK, #21 RED, and #90?
The easiest is #90: if you see one, take it (see above where to get off).
#21 BLACK -- special characteristics: start for the same stop at Moszkva tér as #90; marked by a black coloured "21" on plastic information boards on the buses or green "21" without a surrounding box in case of electronic information boards.
#21 RED -- special characteristics: start from a different stop at Moszkva tér than #21 BLACK or #90; marked by a red coloured "21" on plastic information boards on the buses or green "21" with surrounding RED box in case of electronic information boards; some electronic boards may also say: "21gy".
